Fenwick McKelvey is an assistant professor of communication studies at Concordia University, Montréal. He frequently appears in the media as an expert on information and communication technology policy in Canada.

Fenwick McKelvey is an assistant professor of communication studies at Concordia University, Montréal. He studies algorithmic media – the intensification of software within communication infrastructure. He holds a PhD in the joint program of Communication and Culture between York University and Ryerson University.

His work has appeared in numerous journals, including Television and New Media, the International Journal of Communication and the Canadian Journal of Communication. He has assisted the Canadian Internet Research Authority (CIRA) in the launch of its Internet Performance Test (https://cira.ca/performance).

He is coauthor of The Permanent Campaign: New Media, New Politics. His book Media Daemons is currently under contract with the University of Minnesota Press. He frequently appears in the media as an expert on information and communication technology policy in Canada.
