Carl-Edwin Michel, a tech and video game junkie, is the founder and CEO of Swaf Media, a TV and new media production agency.
He’s been reporting on the high-tech industry since 2009 as a freelance journalist, lecturer and TV personality. His specialties lie in the consumer electronics, computers, Internet trends and interactive entertainment. He has been working in broadcasting, being a host of tech segments and correspondent for various TV shows. Besides his work as a host, he is a prolific producer and has created tech videos for multiple TV shows, popular websites and Cineplex Theaters on a weekly basis.
His interests and experience in the field led him to create his own company and partner with some of the country’s leading companies and iconic brands to deliver projects that have impact. Carl has been the producer of the Canadian Video Game Awards (CVAs), which recognizes the immense talent in the Canadian Video Game industry since 2014 and his now the co-owner and executive producer.
